The Keys in Walnut Creek
All right. Now, we're going to talk about the biggest condo complex in Walnut Creek, the pros and the cons. It's called the Keys. If you're familiar with Walnut Creek at all, you probably know the Keys. It's the big complex and set of buildings that's just north of the downtown area where Civic Drive becomes Oak Road. The Keys was built in the early seventies, and it really very much has that seventies sort of vibe to it.
What’s in The Keys?
There's 790 some odd units total. Yeah, I told you it was big and the thing about the Keys is it's affordable. It's really close to downtown Walnut Creek, but it's one of the best options if you're on a budget and you want to own, but you also want to be in the Walnut Creek school district and have everything that downtown Walnut Creek has to offer. Most of the buildings of the Keys are 4 to 5 stories, everyone has a balcony, there is an elevator, although the elevators are kind of small and slow and a little freaky, if I'm being honest. There's no washers and dryers, which is, you know, standard, because this was built in the seventies.
Is The Keys affordable?
Now, here's the thing about the Keys though, because it's an affordable place. You might think that the Homeowners Association dues are on the low side. The issue though is that it's very much resort style living. So, it has multiple pools, it has sport courts, a clubhouse, a gym and it has everything that you're trying to get in a homeowners association. The Keys has it. And for that, you get to pay more than your average homeowners association. You can rent units of the Keys so this is a complex that gets targeted by investors sometimes who want to buy it and rent it out or just hold it for a long time. If the Keys is on your radar, it's something you want to take a look at, all you got to do is message us. Thanks.
